English Teacher - Nottinghamshire - January 2026
A large, high-performing secondary school in Nottinghamshire is seeking an ambitious Teacher of English to join its English and Media faculty from January 2026. The school is rated Outstanding and recognised for its excellent student outcomes, creative curriculum and emphasis on literacy and oracy across the school.
The Department
The English department is one of the school’s most successful, with consistently high GCSE and A-Level results. The team is collaborative, innovative and passionate about literature and communication. Students are encouraged to express themselves through debate, drama and creative writing.
Facilities include a dedicated English suite, reading hub and media classroom, as well as strong links with local theatres and authors. The school hosts an annual Literary Festival and Creative Writing Competition that involve the wider community.
The Role
- Teach English Language and Literature across KS3–KS5.
- Plan and deliver lessons that engage, challenge and inspire.
- Contribute to curriculum development and literacy initiatives.
- Participate in enrichment opportunities such as debating or drama.

- QTS or equivalent qualification in English or related field.
- Excellent subject knowledge and communication skills.
- A reflective practitioner who enjoys collaboration.
