About the Role

You will plan lessons that combine theoretical understanding with practical investigations, encouraging independent thinking and problem-solving.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering engaging Biology lessons across KS3, KS4, and A-Level
Teaching core biological concepts, including human biology, genetics, ecology, and physiology
Developing pupils’ practical skills through laboratory experiments and fieldwork
Assessing pupil progress, providing timely feedback, and supporting intervention where necessary
Contributing to the development of the Biology curriculum and teaching resources
Supporting science enrichment activities, clubs, and competitions
Maintaining high standards of health and safety within laboratories and practical areas
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent teaching qualification
Have strong subject knowledge in Biology and the ability to inspire pupils
Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills
Be committed to supporting pupils of all abilities and promoting academic excellence
Show creativity and initiative in lesson planning and delivery
Be willing to contribute to the wider life of the school, including extracurricular activities
