Design & Build Mechanical Estimator

Location: East Midlands (Office-based with flexibility)
Salary: Up to £50,000 + Package

We are working in partnership with a growing and highly regarded Mechanical & Electrical contractor delivering innovative design and installation solutions across commercial and residential sectors.

With over 30 years’ combined experience, our client has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality M&E projects, combining in-house design expertise with excellent customer service and cost-effective delivery. Their commercial projects typically range from £20k up to £2 million, with this role focusing on schemes up to £1 million.

Due to continued growth, they are now looking to appoint a Design & Build Mechanical Estimator to join their expanding team.

The Role

As a Mechanical Estimator, you will play a key role in pricing and securing projects, working closely with internal design and delivery teams.

Key responsibilities include:

* Preparing detailed mechanical estimates for design & build projects

* Reviewing tender documentation, specifications, and drawings

* Producing accurate cost plans and tender submissions

* Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing

* Supporting value engineering and cost optimisation

* Working collaboratively with the in-house design team

The Candidate

We are keen to speak with candidates who have:

* Proven experience in mechanical estimating (HVAC / plumbing bias)

* Background within M&E / Building Services contractors

* Experience pricing commercial projects (ideally up to £1M+)

* Strong understanding of design & build projects

* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications

* Excellent communication and commercial awareness
