Year 1 Class Teacher - Nottingham

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Year 1 Class Teacher to join our inclusive and high-achieving primary school in Nottingham from January 2026. This is a permanent position, open to full-time and part-time applicants, with potential for a TLR for subject or phase leadership for the right candidate.

The Role
Position: Year 1 Class Teacher
Location: Nottingham
Start Date: January 2026
Contract: Permanent – Full-Time or Part-Time Considered
TLR: Available for Subject or Phase Leadership (for the right candidate)
As our Year 1 Teacher, you will:
- Deliver engaging, phonics-rich lessons that develop early reading and writing skills.
- Prepare pupils for the Phonics Screening Check where applicable.
- Plan learning that secures strong foundations in number, vocabulary and confidence.
- Use formative assessment to adapt teaching and promote progress for all pupils.
- Create a nurturing classroom culture where pupils feel safe, valued and challenge-seeking.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and parents to support every child’s development.
- (If applicable) Lead a subject or phase area as part of a TLR opportunity.
What We’re Looking For
We welcome applicants who:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally Year 1.
- Have a secure knowledge of phonics, early reading, early maths and behaviour management.
- Are reflective, organised and excellent communicators.
- Demonstrate creativity, energy and a commitment to inclusion.
- Thrive in a collaborative school environment and are open to leadership responsibilities.
