The Role
The school is looking to appoint an experienced and analytical Data Manager to oversee the school’s data systems and ensure accurate tracking of student progress, attendance and performance.
This role plays a critical part in supporting school leadership by providing clear, accurate and insightful data analysis that informs decision making and supports school improvement.
Responsibilities
• Manage and maintain the school’s Management Information System (MIS)
• Coordinate data collection cycles including assessments and progress tracking
• Produce reports for senior leaders, governors and departments
• Analyse student performance data to support school improvement strategies
• Manage statutory returns including the school census
• Work closely with teaching staff to ensure accurate data entry and reporting
• Support timetable management and student group organisation
• Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure GDPR compliance
• Provide training and guidance for staff using data systems
• Develop dashboards and reporting tools to improve accessibility of data
Requirements
• Experience working with school data systems (SIMS, Arbor, Bromcom etc.)
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent Excel and data management skills
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage large volumes of information
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain data clearly
