About the Role
The successful candidate will teach Music across Key Stages 3 and 4, and may also have the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5, delivering lessons that inspire creativity, practical skills, and an appreciation of music theory and performance.
Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering engaging Music lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
Teaching practical and theoretical aspects of music, including performance, composition, and music technology.
Preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations in Music.
Assessing and monitoring student progress, providing constructive feedback to support improvement.
Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and learning styles.
Encouraging student participation in school ensembles, choirs, bands, and concerts.
Supporting school performances, competitions, and extracurricular music activities.
Maintaining a well-organised, safe, and stimulating music classroom and practice areas.
Collaborating with colleagues to develop schemes of work, resources, and departmental initiatives.
Participating in departmental meetings, professional development, and school-wide initiatives.
Candidate Requirements
The school is looking for a passionate and motivated Music teacher who enjoys inspiring students to explore their musical talents.
Applicants should have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Strong subject knowledge in Music, including theory, composition, and performance.
Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
The ability to inspire creativity and foster confidence in students.
Commitment to supporting students academically and personally.
A collaborative approach to working within the Music department.
