Year 3 Teacher | Nottingham
A welcoming primary school in Nottingham is seeking an engaging Year 3 Teacher to join their Key Stage 2 team from January 2026. This Year 3 Teacher will plan sequenced learning that builds pupils’ knowledge and skills in reading, writing and mathematics. The successful Year 3 Teacher will work with the phase leader to develop medium-term planning, deliver focused small-group support and contribute to wider curriculum development. The Year 3 Teacher appointment is due to start January 2026, with induction and planning sessions in the weeks running up to January 2026 to ensure the Year 3 Teacher is ready to lead learning from day one.

The Year 3 Teacher will use formative and summative assessment to set clear targets, adapt teaching to meet a range of needs, and maintain constructive communication with families. Nottingham schools benefit from strong local networks and good CPD — the Year 3 Teacher will be supported with regular coaching and collaborative planning time.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver coherent, well-resourced Year 3 lessons that show clear progression.
- Use assessment evidence to prioritise learning needs and run timely small-group interventions.
- Work with teaching assistants to scaffold learning and adapt resources for mixed-ability groups.
- Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and contribute to moderation activities.
- Engage with parents and carers to communicate progress and next steps.
Person specification
- Qualified teacher with recent, successful experience in Key Stage 2 and Year 3 classrooms.
- Secure subject knowledge across English and mathematics and confident curriculum planning skills.
- Strong organisational skills, effective behaviour routines and excellent communication.
- Enthusiastic team player committed to contributing to school life in Nottingham.
- Available to start January 2026 and able to work in Nottingham.
