Key responsibilities include:
Planning and delivering engaging Design Technology lessons that support creativity and technical development
Teaching pupils to work safely with tools, equipment, and machinery
Supporting pupils in designing, creating, and evaluating practical projects
Assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback to support improvement
Preparing pupils for GCSE coursework and examination requirements
Maintaining a safe, organised, and well-managed workshop environment
Contributing to curriculum development and departmental planning
Supporting extracurricular opportunities such as design competitions or clubs
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Hold Qualified Teacher Status or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification
Have strong subject knowledge in Design Technology, ideally with experience in resistant materials or product design
Demonstrate the ability to deliver engaging practical lessons
Possess strong classroom and workshop management skills
Be confident supporting pupils in developing technical and creative skills
Work effectively as part of a collaborative department
Show commitment to maintaining high standards of health and safety
