Planner / Senior Planner

Civils Planner (Groundworks / Earthworks)
Permanent Role

We’re working with a well-established and growing civil engineering contractor delivering a strong pipeline of infrastructure and groundwork schemes across the Midlands and beyond. Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an experienced Civils Planner with a solid background in groundworks and earthworks to join their team on a permanent basis.

This is a key role within the business, supporting pre-construction and live project delivery, working closely with operational teams to drive programme certainty and performance.

The Role

* Develop, manage and maintain detailed project programmes from tender stage through to completion

* Work closely with project managers, engineers, and commercial teams to ensure realistic and achievable programmes

* Identify critical paths, risks, and opportunities within project schedules

* Monitor progress on live sites and update programmes accordingly

* Provide regular reporting on programme performance and key milestones

* Assist in delay analysis and programme recovery where required

* Support bid teams with planning input for tenders and submissions

Requirements

* Proven experience as a Planner within civil engineering

* Strong background in groundworks and/or earthworks projects

* Proficient in planning software such as Primavera P6 or Asta Powerproject

* Good understanding of construction sequencing, methodologies, and temporary works

* Ability to communicate effectively with site and senior management teams

* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

* Relevant construction or engineering qualification (preferred but not essential)
