Hub Enablement Worker
Have you considered a career in Care? Are you looking for work with a good, local employer?
Our Newark and Bassetlaw Community Hub has exciting Full and Part Time Day Opportunity positions available for compassionate, dedicated and enthusiastic people who wish to join our team as Hub Enablement Workers, working flexibly across the district in buildings, specialist services and the wider community. Our mission is to deliver exceptional Day Opportunities, enhancing the quality of life for adults with disabilities through innovative and compassionate care.
This role is key to ensuring that quality standards are achieved, and you will support individuals on a one-to-one or group basis using person-centred approaches to meet personal outcomes. This will ensure that people are involved in making decisions about what they do and how they take part in what we offer, and may include activities around wellbeing, mental health & social interaction, fitness & physical activity, personal care, eating and drinking and maintaining independence skills. You will respond to the person’s day-to-day personal, physical and emotional needs, always respecting their dignity and being sensitive to age, disability, sexuality, gender and cultural origin. In this role you will use equipment and assist in supporting movement of individuals as directed by their individual care plans (once appropriate training has taken place).
As a Hub Enablement Worker you will positively support individuals within a risk management framework and you will escalate any risks or unresolved difficulties to management, complying with departmental health & safety policies, procedures and practices, understanding your personal responsibility in these areas. You will respond to crisis and emergency situations appropriately, ensuring confidentiality of information according to Council County policy & relevant legislation. You will also work with individuals, carers, specialist workers and relevant agencies to contribute towards the completion, review and ongoing monitoring of care plans, based on effective consultation.
Hub Enablement Workers are key people working in a supportive team environment – you will become a valuable member of the day opportunity team and be supported to undertake high quality training and are expected to adhere to confidentiality, engage in and attend staff meetings to contribute towards the performance of Day Opportunities. More details of the role and responsibilities are in the job description.
We welcome applications from people who can show an understanding of the importance of high-quality day opportunity care and support, who have compassion, dedication and enthusiasm for this area of work. In addition you must have:
- A Professional care qualification (or equivalent) or willingness to work towards standards equivalent to Level 2 Diploma in Adult Care and the Care Certificate
- A basic level of ICT skills
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written
- The ability to work efficiently and effectively, both independently and as part of a team
- A high level of punctuality & attendance
- Experience of working directly with adults, individuals or groups.
