A large and well-established secondary school in Nottingham is seeking an experienced and strategic Facilities Manager to oversee the management, maintenance, and development of its site as soon as possible. This is a senior operational role within the school, responsible for ensuring a safe, compliant, and well-maintained learning environment for pupils and staff.

The Facilities Manager will work closely with the School Business Manager and senior leadership team to oversee premises, compliance, and estates development.

The Role

• Overseeing the day-to-day management of the school site and facilities

• Ensuring full compliance with health & safety legislation and statutory requirements

• Managing planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs

• Supervising site staff, cleaners, and external contractors

• Managing facilities budgets and procurement processes

• Overseeing risk assessments, fire safety procedures, and building compliance

• Coordinating site improvements and minor capital projects

• Supporting lettings and out-of-hours events where required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Significant experience in facilities, estates, or site management

• Strong knowledge of health & safety and statutory compliance frameworks

• Experience managing contractors and supervising site teams

• Excellent organisational and project management skills

• Strong financial awareness and budget management experience
