Computing Teacher - Nottingham - January 2026
About the Role
An academy in Nottinghamshire (with a strong “Good” rating) is seeking a forward-thinking Computing / Computer Science Teacher to join its STEM faculty. You’ll teach across Key Stages 3–4 and ideally take on or expand GCSE / digital tech modules.
The Department & Facilities
The computing suite is well-resourced with modern PCs, virtualization tools, robotics kits and software development environments. The curriculum is designed to combine theory (algorithms, data, networks) with practical programming and digital creativity.
You’ll have opportunities to lead enrichment clubs, competitions (e.g. coding challenges, hackathons) and cross-curricular tech projects (linking with maths, business, DT). Shared planning, peer review and trust-level computing networks strengthen practice.
Staff Benefits & Culture
Teachers speak of a culture that values growth, collaboration and innovation. You’ll benefit from:
- A CPD budget and access to national computing networks
- Time allocated for lesson development and peer observation
- Technical support and shared code resources
- Possibility of leading the computing pathway or curriculum development
- Flexible work options, staff well-being programmes and parking
About the School
This 11–16/18 school is ambitious, outward-facing and deeply embedded in its community. Inspectors have praised the consistency of teaching, curriculum planning and high expectations. Students are polite, motivated and proud to belong.
Technology infrastructure across the school has been recently updated: lightning-fast networks, upgraded labs and mobile device integration. Staff benefit from strong leadership support, trusted autonomy and clear career pathways.
What’s on Offer
- Competitive salary and conditions
- Excellent learning environment and computing infrastructure
- Opportunities to drive curriculum evolution and extracurricular projects
- Professional support, mentorship and network links
- The excitement of shaping future digital learners
