A well-established and growing multi-disciplinary consultancy is seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Engineer to join its Building Services team in Nottingham.

This role offers the opportunity to work across a variety of building projects, delivering high-quality mechanical engineering design and consultancy services. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing mechanical systems, supporting project delivery and ensuring designs meet technical standards, client requirements and project budgets.

This position will involve collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and exposure to projects across a range of sectors.

Due to the nature of some projects, candidates will need to hold active UK Security Clearance or have the ability to obtain it.

The Role

The successful candidate will:

• Produce detailed mechanical engineering designs and specifications for building services projects
• Support the delivery of projects on time, within budget and to high technical standards
• Assist in developing practical and cost-effective engineering solutions
• Attend client meetings to help define project briefs and requirements
• Prepare technical reports and documentation
• Review tender submissions and provide technical recommendations
• Carry out site inspections and produce condition and survey reports
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams to support coordinated project delivery
• Utilise design software including AutoCAD, Revit and building services modelling tools

Requirements

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineering
• Experience delivering mechanical design for building services projects
• Good understanding of building services systems and design principles
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit
• Experience with design software such as Amtech beneficial
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams
