Year 2 Teacher | Nottingham
A well-established Nottingham primary invites applications for a committed Year 2 Teacher to join its KS1 team on a Full-Time basis from January 2026. The successful Year 2 Teacher will be included in collaborative planning ahead of January 2026, will attend induction in January 2026, and will start teaching from January 2026. This Year 2 Teacher role focuses on high-quality early reading, systematic phonics and developing confident mathematicians.

Year 2 Teacher Responsibilities
The Year 2 Teacher will: lead systematic phonics and guided reading as the Year 2 Teacher; design sequenced writing units and practical maths lessons as the Year 2 Teacher; run small-group interventions and moderate standards as the Year 2 Teacher. The Year 2 Teacher will prepare resources prior to January 2026, attend induction in January 2026, and teach from January 2026.
Year 2 Teacher Requirements
Applicants should be a Year 2 Teacher with QTS and demonstrable KS1 experience. The Year 2 Teacher must be an effective classroom manager, a reflective practitioner and skilled at engaging families. Availability for planning before January 2026, induction in January 2026, and to start teaching from January 2026 is essential.
CPD and career
This Full-Time Year 2 Teacher position starting January 2026 includes mentoring, weekly phase meetings and access to subject-specific training. The Year 2 Teacher will be supported with a clear appraisal process and opportunities to develop subject leadership over time.
