HGV Class 1 Driver

The Recruitment Crowd are currently recruiting on behalf of our well known and industry-leading client based in the Nottingham area. We are looking for multiple HGV Class 1 Drivers (CAT C&E) to join the team.

Shifts: Shifts across Monday to Sunday (weekends included on a rota basis)

• Class 1 Night Trunker
• Class 1 Day& Night Driver

Hours: Days and nights

• Monday to Friday (occasional Sunday shift)
• 9-10 hour long shifts
• Days - 09:00 - 10:00am start time
• Nights- 18:00 - 22:00pm start time

Pay Rate:

• Days- Monday to Friday - £16.00 per hour PAYE
• Nights -Monday to Friday - £17.00 per hour PAYE rising to £17.50 after 12 weeks
• Days & Nights - Sunday - £21.50 per hour PAYE
• Bank Holiday Days - £21.50 per hour PAYE rising to £32.00 after 12 weeks
• Bank Holiday Nights - £21.50 per hour PAYE rising to £34.50 after 12 weeks

Location: Nottingham, NG6

Job Type: Ongoing with an opportunity for permanent for the right candidate.

The role:

• Working set shifts with a rota planned in advance, weekends included and required
• Securely moving and transporting premium and high value goods (parcels) to sub-depots or collecting them from delivery units.
• Focusing on safe driving and maintaining accurate paperwork throughout shift.
• Drivers may be required to assist with loading and unloading of the vehicle using a tail lift and pump truck.
• Interacting with customers and representing the company in a professional and courteous manner.

Requirements:

• Full UK driving licence with Class 1 entitlement (category C&E).
• Minimum of 6 months experience required.
• Valid and in date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
• No more than 6 points on licence (minor offences only).
• Full understanding of WTD legislation.
• Be prepared to undertake a short driving assessment for the position.
• Excellent communication skills.
• A safety-first mindset.
