Solicitor / Legal Executive - Litigation (Human Rights Claims)

An established Midlands-based law firm is seeking an experienced Solicitor or Chartered Legal Executive or experienced Paralegal to join its Litigation team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a varied and meaningful caseload focused on claims for damages arising from human rights breaches.

You will take responsibility for an existing and well-supported caseload, with scope to further develop the department. The role involves both pre-litigation and litigation work, supported by a strong client base and an experienced team member.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a full caseload from inception to conclusion
• Handling pre-action and litigated claims, including multi-track matters
• Working closely with vulnerable clients in sensitive and complex cases
• Contributing to the growth and development of the litigation department
• Using the firm’s case management and diarising systems effectively

Requirements

• Qualified Solicitor, Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX) or experienced Paralegal
• Experience handling a full litigation caseload independently
• Strong working knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules
• Confident using case management systems
• A proactive approach to building and developing work

Desirable Experience

• Immigration-related litigation experience
• Claims involving unlawful detention, including under the Mental Health Act and Immigration Act
• Experience of cases involving vulnerable individuals, including those with physical or mental harm
• Exposure to claims linked to human trafficking
