Shape Learning in Lower Key Stage 2

We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and committed Year 3 Teacher to join our forward-thinking primary school in Grantham, starting as soon as possible. This is a unique opportunity to teach a pivotal stage in pupils’ education, helping them transition confidently from Key Stage 1 into Lower Key Stage 2 while building essential skills and fostering a love of learning.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for a Year 3 class, delivering engaging and differentiated lessons across all areas of the curriculum. You will play a key role in developing pupils’ literacy, numeracy, and wider learning, while nurturing independence, curiosity, and resilience. Our school is committed to creating a stimulating, inclusive environment where every child feels valued and supported to reach their potential.

We pride ourselves on collaboration and reflective practice. As a Year 3 Teacher, you will work closely with colleagues across Key Stage 2, sharing ideas, resources, and strategies to ensure that all pupils make strong progress. The school encourages creativity, innovation, and professional growth, offering an environment where teachers are supported and valued.

Role Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum for Year 3

  • Use assessment to monitor pupil progress and inform planning

  • Provide differentiated learning opportunities to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners

  • Maintain a positive, structured, and safe classroom environment

  • Promote pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and senior leaders to ensure continuity and consistency

  • Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding pupil progress, achievements, and next steps

  • Contribute to staff meetings, professional development sessions, and school-wide initiatives

  • Support pupils in building independence, resilience, and confidence in their learning

This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on children’s learning at a stage where their confidence, engagement, and curiosity are rapidly developing.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Have experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 3

  • Demonstrate strong subject knowledge in literacy, numeracy, and the wider curriculum

  • Be confident in differentiating teaching to support the needs of all pupils

  • Have excellent classroom management skills and the ability to create a positive learning environment

  • Be collaborative, reflective, and committed to continuous professional development

  • Show dedication to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting pupils’ wellbeing

Early Career Teachers are welcome to apply and will receive structured mentoring and support to develop their teaching practice.

Why Join Us?

  • A supportive, approachable leadership team and professional staff culture

  • Well-resourced classrooms and access to high-quality teaching materials

  • Opportunities for ongoing CPD and career development

  • Pupils who are motivated, engaged, and keen to learn

  • A school culture that values creativity, inclusion, and staff wellbeing

  • The chance to make a real difference in the lives of pupils in Lower Key Stage 2
