KTP Finisher - Sustainable Flowers/Controlled-Environment Horticulture

Salary- £30,000-35,000 per annum

Full time/ fixed term contract for 9 months| Unique industry-academia innovation role

About The Role

Ready to help reinvent how premium flowers are grown, delivered and experienced?

We’re looking for a motivated and curious horticultural scientist or engineer to take a pivotal role in completing a cutting‑edge Knowledge Transfer Partnership at Nottingham Trent University.

This is a rare chance to work at the intersection of controlled‑environment crop science, sustainability, data modelling and real‑world commercial innovation. You’ll help finalise experimental optimisation of premium roses, complete key digital and environmental models, and shape the procedures that will guide the future of sustainable flower production at scale. You’ll split your time between the commercial partner and NTU’s research environment, working hands‑on with crops, sensors and data workflows to deliver the final technical and translational steps of the project.

If you're excited by transforming experimental results into operational reality, and want your work to have direct environmental and commercial impact, this role puts you at the heart of an ambitious industry shift.

What you’ll gain:

  • Experience across plant science, digital modelling, sustainability analytics and supply‑chain innovation.
  • A portfolio of real-world achievements linked to major project milestones
  • The chance to help a leading luxury brand adopt low‑carbon, water‑efficient, data‑driven flower production.
  • Strong professional development through the KTP framework, ideal for accelerating your career in agri‑tech, horticulture, sustainability or innovation roles.

Who is this perfect for?

A practical, analytical and innovative thinker who enjoys hands‑on experimentation, problem‑solving and cross‑disciplinary collaboration — and who wants their work to contribute to a more sustainable global flower industry.

Make an impact. Grow something new. Help shape the future of sustainable floriculture.

Interview Date: w/c 20th April 2026
