Estates Maintenance Officer (Electrical)

Portland College
Nottingham

We are outstanding, you can be too.

We are looking for a qualified electrician to join our friendly Estates team here at Portland Charity. This person will be able to confidently undertake planned and general electrical maintenance, diagnostics and repairs, and to play a part in ensuring our campus buildings are safe and secure for our learners, citizens and staff.

The successful candidate will be experienced in dealing with reactive and preventative electrical maintenance and installation and will possess a range of practical tangential skills, with additional knowledge around CCTV, badge security systems, fire alarm, etc. During the working day, you will come into contact with Portland Charity staff, learners and citizens, therefore it is important that you have a friendly and professional approach.

Alongside day-to-day maintenance, diagnostic and repairs, we are also looking for someone who will play a crucial role in mentoring and developing our apprentices, therefore we hope to find someone who has experience in mentoring, and has a calm and supportive approach in sharing their knowledge and skills.

This role is primarily based at our Main Campus in Mansfield; however, you may sometimes be required to work at our multiple sites across Nottingham in order to meet service demands. As this role may involve travel between sites, a full and valid driving licence is essential.

If you would like a varied role in which no two days are the same, and you would like to join a dynamic and thriving team, we look forward to hearing from you.

As part of our pre-employment checks, we will be required to carry out an Enhanced DBS check.

You can see more about what we do at Portland Charity by looking at the Who We Are and Choose Your Future pages on our website

*Please note that we will not accept any applications submitted after the campaign has been closed. We may close campaigns early if we have a high volume of applications.
