Hospice in Your Home (HIYH) Palliative Care Assistant

£13.19 - £18.34 per hour

18 - 36 hours per week worked over two - four 9-hour shifts

Shifts worked across a 7 day / 3-shift roster. Monday to Sunday (early) 7.00am-4.00pm, (late) 1:00pm-10:00pm and (Night) 10.00pm -7.00am

5 weeks holiday pay plus Bank Holidays, Expenses paid at 45p per mile, Pension Scheme, Staff referral scheme- Earn up to £500.00, Comprehensive training provided, Employee Assistance Programme, including private GP access, Bluelight Card discount scheme, free DBS check and Uniform.

We deliver high-quality, excellent palliative care for patients living with a life-limiting condition and we also support their families and friends, both before and after death.

When people are cared for in their own home, our goal is to help them to make the most of their lives, in ways that are important to THEM . This care may sometimes include coming into the Hospice as part of our wellbeing offer.

This role…

You will work within a supportive multi-disciplinary team, in a professional service, making a real difference to the lives of patients and their families. Working in an environment where the patient is truly the centre of care, you will be part of a supportive and fun team where everyone is valued for their unique skills and experience. You do not need palliative care experience (although that would be great) as we offer a comprehensive induction package.

Our Hospice in Your Home Team provides planned 1:1 care and a roaming service to people in their own homes. The successful postholder will work shifts across the week, including weekends and bank holidays, on a planned rota basis.

You must have Health Care Assistant experience and possess a minimum of a Care Certificate Qualification. Support will be given to the postholder to develop their career ambitions. You must possess a full UK driving license and have access to a vehicle . You dont need to meet every desirable criteria we recruit based on values . The successful applicant will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check and must be eligible to work in the UK. Nottinghamshire Hospice is a non-smoking organisation.
