About the Role

The successful candidate will teach Art across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the possibility of Key Stage 5 depending on experience. The school is looking for a teacher who can inspire students through creative projects, experimentation with different media, and exploration of art history and contemporary artistic practice.

Responsibilities will include:

• Planning and delivering engaging Art lessons aligned with the national curriculum.

• Teaching a variety of artistic techniques including drawing, painting, sculpture, and mixed media.

• Supporting students in developing creativity, technical skills, and personal artistic style.

• Preparing students for GCSE Art examinations and coursework requirements.

• Assessing student work and providing constructive feedback to support progress.

• Differentiating lessons to meet the needs of students with varying abilities and interests.

• Maintaining a safe and organised art classroom and studio environment.

• Encouraging students to explore artistic influences and cultural perspectives.

• Supporting school exhibitions, displays, and creative projects.

• Collaborating with colleagues within the Arts department to share resources and best practices.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Strong subject knowledge in Art and Design.
