Year 6 Teacher - Nottingham

Marchant Recruitment
Nottingham

We are delighted to invite applications for an inspiring and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join our inclusive and supportive school community in Nottingham. This is a key role, offering the opportunity to guide pupils during their final year of primary school as they prepare for the transition to secondary education.

Our school values high expectations, positive relationships, and a nurturing environment. As a Year 6 teacher, you will deliver high-quality teaching across the curriculum, with a particular focus on literacy, numeracy, and SATs preparation. You will establish a calm, structured, and positive classroom environment where pupils feel confident, supported, and motivated to succeed.

Assessment and monitoring of progress will be central to your practice. You will track pupil achievement, identify areas for intervention, and provide targeted support where necessary. Differentiation and inclusion will be key to supporting pupils with SEND, EAL, or additional learning needs.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues across Upper Key Stage 2, sharing good practice and contributing to curriculum development. Teaching assistants, the SEN team, and senior leaders will support you to ensure every pupil receives high-quality learning experiences.

Building strong relationships with parents and carers is highly valued. You will be encouraged to communicate openly, celebrate achievements, and collaborate to support pupils’ academic and emotional development.

The school is committed to staff wellbeing and professional growth, offering access to high-quality CPD, mentoring, and opportunities for career progression.

You will:

  • Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Year 6 curriculum

  • Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom

  • Use assessment to support planning and track progress

  • Support pupils’ academic and emotional development

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, teaching assistants, and families

In return, we offer:

  • A welcoming and supportive staff team

  • Strong leadership and a clear school vision

  • Access to professional development and career progression

  • Well-resourced classrooms

  • Motivated, respectful, and enthusiastic pupils

To be considered for this position, please forward an up-to-date CV as soon as possible.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
