About the Languages Department:
We believe at Ellis Guilford School that Languages open doors for our children, helping them to understand different cultures, broaden their perspectives, and communicate confidently in an increasingly interconnected world. We deliver a rich, ambitious and engaging Languages curriculum that seeks to spark curiosity, celebrate diversity and inspire a love of language learning.

About You:
As the Director of Languages at Ellis Guilford School, you need a true passion for language learning Your deep knowledge of modern foreign languages will lead our languages faculty to continue to drive academic excellence, as we continue to outperform similar centres.
Our ideal candidate will:
· Have experience delivering French and Spanish curriculums in KS3 and KS4
· Be an experienced or aspiring leader, with previous leadership or assistant leadership experience, supporting colleagues to deliver inspiring, challenging and high‑quality language provision.
· Have a track record of securing strong outcomes in Languages at Key Stage 3 and 4.
· Be resilient and relentless in the pursuit of ‘EGScellence’.
· Bring a ‘can do’ and ‘will do’ work ethic.
· Set high expectations and foster a culture where pupils value communication, respect different cultures and take pride in their learning environment.
· Have a strong commitment to our school values of integrity, ambition and equality.
· Bring creativity to the classroom, where language learning isn’t limited to a textbook
Requirements:
To apply for the Director of Languages opportunity you must have:
· Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and a degree in a relevant field
· Recent successful teaching experience in French and Spanish at Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.
· Recent and proven experience of leading a team of people within an educational setting.
· The ability to create innovative resources and learning opportunities that engage and challenge learners.
