Deputy Manager Children's Residential
Salary: £32,448 – £36,400 per annum
Contract: Full-time, Permanent We are recruiting on behalf of a respected therapeutic children’s residential provider who is expanding its services. As part of this growth, we are seeking an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join their team in one of its established homes to help provide exceptional care to the young person who resides in the property. About the Organisation Our client delivers high‑quality therapeutic residential care for children aged 7–17 who have experienced trauma, neglect or disrupted early life experiences. Their approach is rooted in attachment‑based practice, trauma‑informed models, and therapeutic parenting techniques such as PACE and DDP. Key responsibilities include: * Creating a safe, nurturing and therapeutic home environment * Using trauma‑informed approaches to support children’s emotional and behavioural development * Leading shifts and guiding the staff team to maintain high standards of care * Supervising staff and promoting professional development * Overseeing placement plans, risk assessments, rotas and care documentation * Working collaboratively with families, schools and external professionals The Deputy Manager will play a vital role in ensuring consistency, quality and positive outcomes for all young people in the home. Could You Be the Deputy Manager We’re Looking For? To be considered for the Deputy Manager position, candidates must have: * NVQ Level 3 or 4 in Children’s Residential Childcare (or equivalent) * At least 2 years’ experience working in a residential children’s home * Experience as a Senior, Shift Leader or Team Leader * A strong understanding of trauma, attachment and therapeutic practice * A full UK driving licence * The right to work in the UK without sponsorship You will need resilience, compassion, leadership capability and a commitment to helping children feel safe and valued.
