Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing materials and equipment for DT lessons, workshops, and projects

  • Supporting staff and pupils with practical tasks and demonstrations

  • Maintaining and checking tools, machinery, and equipment for safety and functionality

  • Ensuring workshops are organised, clean, and safe at all times

  • Supporting the creation of resources for projects, assessments, and exhibitions

  • Assisting with storage and stock management of materials and supplies

  • Adhering to health and safety standards and risk assessments

  • Supporting extracurricular activities, competitions, or DT-related events

Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will:

  • Have experience in a DT technician, workshop, or practical support role, ideally in a school

  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills and attention to detail

  • Have practical skills across a range of materials and technologies

  • Be confident in operating and maintaining workshop machinery and tools safely

  • Be proactive, reliable, and able to support both staff and pupils effectively

  • Understand and adhere to health and safety regulations in a school setting

  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team
