SEND Teaching Assistant

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a number of SEND schools in Nottingham, supporting with their recruitment for a SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND TA. The settings are centred on pupil’s development, as well as an intrinsic desire to make progress both academically and with their own emotional, social and behavioural skills.

The schools are seeking a passionate team player to take on this short-term role, although there is potential for this to become a long-term placement for the right SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND TA. The successful SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND TA will bring a new dimension and skill set to this role, be keen to develop their own skills to adapt to the children’s individual needs and have a positive impact on the wider school.

The position will involve working with students on a 1 to 1 basis across all Key Stages with diagnosis of Autism / ASD, SLD / Severe Learning Difficulties, and challenging behaviours. A proactive thinker with the ability to take control of situations confidently is necessary.

The successful SEND Teaching Assistant / SEND TA will have:

Level 2 or 3 CACHE or equivalent is desirable
Experience working with children with additional needs / disabilities
Experience working with students with Social Emotional Mental Health (SEMH) and challenging behaviours
Team-Teach or MAPA qualifications desirable
