The purpose of this role will be to assist and support the MindTech research team in carrying out academic research which include literature searches, designing and developing questionnaires and workshop materials, liaising with young people involved in co-production workshops, conducting surveys, carrying out analyses and tests and drafting of reports. The NIHR MindTech HealthTech Research Centre was formed in 2013 to accelerate the development and evaluation of new technology to address unmet clinical needs related to mental health.

You will join an established team, led by Professor Chris Hollis, whose main areas of research interest include child and adolescent psychiatry and digital mental health.

This role will focus on the SPARX-UK Trial and the CaTS-App tool to support young people who self-harm. The SPARX (Smart, Positive, Active, Realistic, X-factor thoughts) pilot, feasibility trial is examining the feasibility of conducting a future definitive randomised controlled trial of a digital serious game for adolescents with mild to moderate depression. CaTS-APP is developing a digital version of an established research tool to be used in clinical or other frontline settings. We are co-creating and testing a prototype tool with young people, practitioners and computer scientists to support improved identification, understanding and support for self-harm in young people. You will support the running of a clinical dyad study with practitioners and young people.

This is a fixed-term contract offered until 1st April 2027. This is a full time position. Your working hours will be 36.25 hours per week.
