Key responsibilities include:
Teaching Food Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4
Planning and delivering practical and theory-based lessons
Teaching key areas such as nutrition, food preparation, and hygiene
Ensuring a safe and well-organised kitchen environment
Monitoring pupil progress and providing constructive feedback
Contributing to curriculum development within the department
Supporting extracurricular activities such as cooking clubs
Experience and Skills
The successful candidate will:
Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification
Have strong subject knowledge in Food Technology or a related area
Be confident delivering practical cooking lessons
Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills
Be passionate about food education and pupil engagement
Work effectively within a collaborative department
